Alan Becker

Players:
It is with great sadness that I must share news of the passing of Al Becker, a long time member of the league, on Monday. Al, who became ill toward the end of the winter, played most of the league schedule this year for Avis Rental. He was recently a manager at this business. Al truly loved the game of basketball; at one point recently, he generated interest in and created an over-60 league at the Guilderland "Y." He also coached youth hoops for many years. He took tremendous pride in his conditioning and ability to "run the court."

Al is survived by his wife and four children. A memorial service will be held for the family. There are no calling hours.

As a reflection of his dedication to our league, Al and family have asked that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Colonie Senior Basketball League, c/o Dick Oliphant, 46D Hollandale Lane, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
