We want to let everyone know that Bob Foltin passed away unexpectedly several days ago. Bob was always very conspicuous by his unique appearance and was very appreciative of everyone's friendship. He played in the CSBL for more than 20 years and was always ready to be of assistance whenever a player would run into hard times and whenever there would be some type of league fund raiser or function.

A memorial service for Bob will be held at 10 am The Good Shephard Lutheran Church510 Albany Shaker Road, Albany, 518-458-1562 on Saturday, August 1.

William Robert "Bob" Foltin


William Robert "Bob" Foltin, of Latham, passed away July 6, 2015, at Albany Medical Center.

Born and raised in Little Falls, N.Y., Bob graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering. He obtained his master of science in industrial administration from Union College in Schenectady, where he also worked on his Ph.D. Bob was an adjunct professor at Union College. His professional career began at DuPont in Newburgh, after graduating from Cornell. GE Silicone Products in Waterford brought him to Latham. He then worked for the New York State Environmental Conservation Dept. until retirement. He was a long-time member of the Latham Elks 2192, and played softball on many local teams throughout his lifetime. An avid writer, Bob frequently read his poetry and sponsored other poets at venues around the Capital Region.

Bob is survived by three daughters and eleven grandchildren who invite all to a memorial service on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Loudonville, at 10 a.m., followed by a reception at Latham Elks Club.
