North Greenbush – David A. Reo Sr., 65, passed away peacefully Monday, April 14 th 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Robert Reo Sr. and Sue Mariano Reo, husband of Deborah Finelli Reo, and father of Gregory and David Jr. Dave resided most of his life in North Greenbush and attended Catholic Central High School and Troy High School where he was a standout basketball player. He went on to attend The Junior College of Albany, where he also played basketball, and later graduated from The College of St. Rose.
He was the owner of Reo Financial Services where he ran a successful financial planning practice for 32 years. Upon his retirement, his oldest son took over the business.
Dave enjoyed life to the fullest. He would frequently visit Lake George and Saratoga with his family, and enjoyed boating and swimming. He loved to ski in the winter and enjoyed getting away to Pompano Beach, FL, where he took many trips with his parents and later shared those experiences with his family. In the summer, he enjoyed trips to Cape Cod and Wildwood where he introduced his sons to his favorite restaurants, beaches, and ice cream shops. He had many skills outside of the business world. He led the construction of two beautiful custom homes where he and his family made many wonderful memories together. He was a coach and mentor to both his sons having coached David Jr. in basketball, and helped Greg get his start in finance.
Dave was a long-time member of the Colonie Senior Basketball League and was famous for his jump shot. He could often be seen behind the wheel of his BMW. You always knew when Dave had arrived because of his loud stereo with the bass bumping! He recently became a grandfather to his first grandson Frankie, who was able to bring a smile to his face even throughout his illness.
