CSBL Website, 2.0

July 6, 2020

The CSBL received some bittersweet news last week. Our long time Webmaster, Ed Shepard, has informed us he is stepping down after many years of dedicated service to our league. We will dearly miss Ed’s companionship each Saturday afternoon at the gym and at our annual banquets and we wholeheartedly extend to Ed and his wife Deidre best wishes and continued good health and happiness as they move forward.

This transition will bring with it a change in how we manage and operate our website. As I am writing this blog I have just gotten off the phone with technical support from Blue Host, our website hosting partner. My intent is to learn everything that we will need to maintain, and possibly upgrade our website in an effort to bring to you, our members, an engaging, informative and satisfying experience each time you visit this site.

Our board has a goal of adding features to our website that would include: (1) the ability to register and pay dues online; (2) a place for members to leave interactive posts/comments; (3) sortable and downloadable statistics, both in-season and archived seasons, as well as career stats and overall league records; and (4) an area to display advertisements for our sponsors.

I will be needing some help to get this project off the ground and keep it flying. If you have experience or interest in web development and would like to volunteer your services to our league I would love to hear from you!

See you on the hardwood!

Andy Kramarchyk, CSBL Commissioner
